Nerve Conduction Velocity & Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging
As we are strongly dedicated in improving your well being, we have begun to administer the Nerve Conduction Velocity and Diagnostic Ultrasound tests, which provide you with the most accurate diagnosis for your benefit.

NCV
Nerve Conduction Velocity measure how well individual nerves can transmit electrical signals and therefore access an individual nerve's functional status. Conduction velocity (or the time required to carry impulses from one point of the nerve to another), amplitude (size of response) in addition to F-Waves and H-reflexes (which measure response at the proximal nerve and nerve root) can be measured. NCV can detect and evaluate damage to the peripheral nervous system which includes all the nerves that lead away from the brain and spinal cord and the smaller nerves that branch out from those nerves.

Simply put, Nerve Conduction Velocity studies involve the stimulation of nerves in the arms and legs, which will measure the velocity of the motor and sensory components of the nerves. By measuring the velocity of information that travels to and from the brain we can determine normal or abnormal function.

DUS
Diagnostic Ultrasound is not a new modality. Easy use and low cost have made it a popular method of evaluating soft tissue or articular conditions and injuries. In the upper extremities, our technicians can perform ultrasound on shoulders, rotator cuff, biceps, elbows, wrists and hands. The musculatures that can be viewed include para-cervical and para-lumbar muscles, and the thoracic muscles including trapezii and deltoids. In the lower extremities, ultrasound may be performed on the sacro-iliac joints, hips, knees, ankle and feet.

Indications for NCV studies: Indications for Ultrasound studies:
  • Radiating & radicular back or neck pain
  • Extremity pain & discomfort
  • Sciatic & intermittent leg pain
  • Burning sensation in extremities
  • Carpal tunnel / tarsal tunnel syndrome
  • Numbness & tingling
  • Motor / sensory deficits
  • Consult your doctor for other possible indications

  • Localized non-radiating pain
  • Para-spinal discomfort
  • Soft tissue discomfort or injury
  • Muscle spasms
  • Decreased range of motion
  • Arthritic disorders & joint conditions
  • Sprain / strain of the joints
  • Consult your doctor for other possible indications
